Do It Yourself // Captain's Mirror

7:00 AM

Slowly making progress on our bedroom makeover! When I stumbled on this pin, I knew I needed a captain's mirror. The prices for pre-made were nowhere in my budget, but knew it was a doable project on my own. I found this video with a step by step, cost effective way to get the job done. This is simply done with an Ikea mirror ($35), three belts (found all three on sale at Gap), spray paint and hot glue. Follow the link above for more info!

PS! I finally made a VSCO grid. You can check it out here and pin whatever you like!

  4. Thank you so much for sharing the link to this tutorial! I've been wanting to do a cock version of a captains' mirror. My husband bought me a huge round clock and I was just waiting to find some cheap belts to create the hanging look. However I wasn't fully sure how I was going to actually put everything together. I love the use of the actual buckles. Perfect.
    Once again thank you!! YAY!

  5. This looks so elegant, I'm thinking I might try it for the wall above my dresser. Just a question, what did you use to spray paint the frame? It looks like you did black on the outside and then gold/bronze on the inside?
