Do It Yourself // Painted Thrifted Table

I've always been a white furniture kind of girl- always, always, always. When I found this table for $5 at Goodwill, I automatically assumed it would eventually be white. Fast forward months and months later, I finally found time to paint it and ended up with gold. Lately, I've been craving that unexpected color in furniture, outfits, you name it! I actually love the turn-out and I think it'll look great next to a future white/off-white sofa!

The primer is the main key here, it's an oil base primer from Zinsser. What it left me with was a perfect surface, after sanding of course, that will be an easy clean. Then I found a great gold from Rustoleum as well as a clear coat (which had trouble drying in some spots). So basically- sand, primer, paint, seal and you're done! I have a smaller version with a cushion top that I will be doing next!

  2. Oh my gosh I love this. I've been thinking of doing a gold night stand and then dip dying the legs of the table white. What do you think?! This got me so excited to try it!

  7. This turned out SO great and I have been debating what to paint my furnititure I picked up from Goodwill/garage sales I didn't know if I should do a gold shade or just neutral beige (I too was trying to stray away from the typical white). I think you just inspired me to do gold!
